Jonathan Lachowitz CFP®
Jonathan Lachowitz is the founder of White Lighthouse Investment Management and a cross border expert. Jonathan is a CFP® professional and is authorized to use the CFP® marks in both the United States and Switzerland . He completed his MBA in Finance and International Business at New York University's Stern School of Business in 1997 Jonathan also holds a B.A. in Economics from Hamilton College.
Jonathan is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and is an active member of their cross border community He was the 2009 chair of the FPA Europe Africa and Middle East Geographic Focus Group. Jonathan also serves as a volunteer on the executive committee and board of American Citizen's Abroad (ACA) where he works in the areas of Social Security, Medicare , Banking and US taxation. Jonathan is also a member of ACA's Professional Tax Advisory Council. Jonathan is a Board member of the Swiss Financial Planning Organization (SFPO), who are responsible for licensing the CFP® marks in Switzerland.
Jonathan is an accomplished author on international personal financial topics and in 2014 was asked by the Wall Street Journal to be one of their Personal Finance Experts to write articles and answer reader questions on their new expat portal. Before starting his company, Jonathan worked for fifteen years in international finance positions at Tetra Laval International, IMD and Ingersoll-Rand. In addition to investment management and financial planning, Jonathan was also an occasional lecturer at IMD, one of the world's leading business schools.
John Wanvig joined White Lighthouse Investment Management as a Financial Planner and Investment Advisor in 2016. He completed his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1988 and his BA in Economics from Cornell University in 1984. John began his career on Wall Street working for an investment bank, Prudential Bache Securities.
Following his MBA, John joined General Mills and had a 26-year career as a senior executive building their International Breakfast Cereal Joint Venture, CPW (a Nestlé & General Mills JV). During this time, he worked as a VP Director with P&L responsibility for $450 Million in sales. John is very experienced in cross border international business having worked in Latin America, China, Australia, Europe, Russia, SE Asia and the Middle East. John was also the President of CEEREAL, the European Breakfast Cereal Association in 2012 and 2013.
John has lived outside the USA as an expat executive for more than 20 years and is very comfortable with the common issues of expat executives: stock options, company stock plans, pension plans, expat investment strategies, money transfers etc.
John is now returning to his first passion, Finance and Financial Planning. He will be located in White Lighthouse’s Lausanne, Switzerland office. John has completed the Certified Financial Planning (CFP® ) Coursework and is a candidate for CFP® certification. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). John is also busy with Business Angels Switzerland (BAS) and as a CEO coach in the Entrepreneurship ecosystem at the EPFL University in Lausanne.
